October 19-25

Hey everyone!
Life is good.
And here's a snippet of our happily ever after.

***

sunday- Julia's birthday dinner. We had cheeseburgers with homemade buns from Michelle and homemade burgers. Here's the recipe.

http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/49404/juiciest-hamburgers-ever/

It's delicious!
As I was flipping the fries, some fell off the pan into the oven. Soon enough, the house was full of smoke and the smoke alarms were going off. It made for an... Interesting evening. The door and all the windows were open and the whole thing kinda needed up being hilarious when Jeremy put onions in the top part of the apron. I'm lucky to be a part of Seth's family!!! They can make any situation fun.

monday- seth had to finish a take home test and was just overloaded on school. We're glad these classes are about halfway over...

wednesday-recipe!!! this was yummy and I think we might do it again sometime

Lemon Pepper Tilapia

Ingredients:
Asparagus
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Lemon pepper
2 tilapia fish fillets
Lemon slices

Spread the washed prepared asparagus in the bottom on the pan and put enough olive oil to coat. Put some salt and pepper on them to taste. Then place the tilapia on the asparagus, and rub lemon pepper on one or both sides of the fish. Place lemon slices on the fish. Then bake at 400 degrees until the fish is white and flaky, and the asparagus looks roasted.

thursdsay- I went to a Relief Society activity... With a cook off involved. I made white chicken chili, and got 3rd place! Seth and I used the gift card at the movies the next night. We also made the pumpkin mason jar craft. And Sethy played some much needed games :)

***

friday- date night!
We have a bucket list for fall, and one thing on our list was to eat at 3 new places! This was our third place actually. Nicolitalia Pizzeria. It was delicious! Seriously the crust was so yummy! It has good ratings in Provo... We'll be going there again sometime.

After dinner, we went to Maze Runner. So fun! And we really liked it. Especially sneaking in candy. And look at my handsome date!!

saturday- Seth had a LOT of work to do. He seriously works so hard, I'm so proud of him. He worked at school. I miss him.
I cleaned and did laundry and took a nice nap... Then we had a relaxing night together with ginger chicken lettuce wraps...yum!

October 12-18

***

This semester we've started doing a Sunday dinner with the some of the Harris clan that lives here in Provo. It's good to talk and see each other for a bit- and catch up. This week we had it at Mark's house.

***
Tuesday I worked only a half day, and I took some time to do some initiatory work at the temple. What a lovely feeling of peace is felt at the temple.

***

I only worked 3 days this week- fall break came and gave me the rest of the week off. Wednesday was a nightmare- but also surprisingly invigorating. I subbed a music class at a junior high- my first time for both. Ahhhh crazy times! Teaching choir to 130 kids is scary-and loud. Teaching a choir to all boys in 7th-9th grade is intimidating. The first period was mere survival. Then I got prep time to run through the songs and practice parts. I'm proud to say by the end, I got a class full of the beginning boys choir QUIET. Subbing is giving me some good teaching experience. It's so crazy how many new people I come in contact with each day. And there was a moment where I imagined I was a real choir teacher.

Music makes me feel alive.

Seth had some fun working! Turns out there's a giant maze of recycled cardboard on campus.

***

Thursday was a cleaning house/watching Gossip Girl day for me. Seth worked and went to school. Then we made stir fry and packed a picnic, drove to squaw peak, and . . . had a wonderful time. Watched the sunset. Looked at the trees.
Quality time with Seth. Muah! I love him.

With Halloween coming, our house is becoming more and more festive. I've been reading A Discovery of Witches, which I've been reading forever. Not just because of Halloween :) Sethy and Mark played games and I made roasted pumpkin seeds :)

My family came to visit me on Friday! We went to lunch at Cubby's and then spent some time at my apartment, where the kids wrestled on our big bed and we listened to our larger-than-life sound system. Then we headed to Gardner Village for some fall scenery and shopping. We had the best caramel apple known to man and got some time together. It's been a bumpy road this past year. I'm so glad that when it comes down to it, family is family and they are there for you.

***

Later that night, my prince brought me flowers and asked me to the homecoming dance. How lucky am I?! We got together with Mark and Ashley, and went to the Olive Garden. Then stopped by our house and headed to the Ricerwoods for the Frank Sinatra-themed dance. Seth is the sweetest. He danced with me, laughed with me, and sat in the corner with me. Then we headed back to our place and watched Moulin Rouge.

As we drove to Evanston Saturday morning, we were spotted by Kinsey on the interstate (lol). Sethy stayed home and studied, got some food for the littles, and some of us went and helped out at Grandma's house. We love you Albert and Shirley. I'm so grateful for my grandparents. And my dad for how sweet he is to them. And I'm so glad that I know my other grandparents are right up there, watching over me. I love you guys too. And I'm excited to see you both again someday.

I took a few pictures while I was at my grandparents' house. This is my grandpa and then the babies are my dad and Uncle Spencer.

***

Happy Birthday Julia! We celebrated with Indian food and then dessert at Michelle's. She's such a good friend and I'm happy to call her my sister-in-law!

This has been such an emotional week, and Seth has stayed by my side and been so patient and loving with me. One thing I know for sure is that marriage should and can be full of unconditional love. And I am really one lucky girl.
