December 21-27: San Francisco

Sitting at the airport sleeping, sitting, and getting delayed. And writing about this trip :)

***

This year for Christmas, our family decided to take a trip to San Francisco. Everyone except Caitlin and the other Seth were able to make it. My cousins Eli and Livey (and aunt and uncle Sherie and Mark) came too! We stayed in a house in Pacifica close to the ocean. It was magical. The drive up to our house was on a steep hill which made me nervous pretty much every time we went up it. Then the driveway twisted around up to the house. We had 4 cars in the driveway which made parking kind of tricky, but we didn't have to drive. But that's just the driveway...inside the house turned out to be a complete wacky jigsaw puzzle. It was awesome though.

There were enough beds for all the couples and then the teenagers/kids got twin beds or couch cushions :) but the house was very interesting... There were 2 spiral staircases, and a roof that separated two parts of the house. Seth and I's little bungalow had a door to the roof and we had to climb up two little ladders to get up to our bed. The window facing the front of the house that we had by our bed gave us a nice view including the ocean!!! Ahh I just love the ocean. There was a hobbit hole with a secret passage in the ceiling which led to 2 floors up - right beneath where Seth and I slept. There was a real kitchen and then on te other side of the house there was a smaller kitchen. Hardwood floors... Buttons for lights and fans... A keyboard. Lots of stairs in the front. One of the rooms was a loft which the spiral stairs led to. And secret doors and a huge pile of cement. Let's just say we explored and found some cool stuff ;)

I liked the neighborhood and area we lived in-- so close to the ocean and some stores around- plus the nicest Taco Bell in the world. Wooden and right on the beach with even a window for those to order with sandy feet. It was awesome and I went twice :)

Each day, we went out and did something, saw things, ate good food. :)

The first night we were there, Seth and the boys went to a football game and Seth had a blast!!

And in the meantime the ladies went out to eat. Mom and I tried little baby octopii (is that right?)

And the next morning...taking a walk down to the beach.

Our house was up on a hill. You had to go up a pretty steep road to get up there!
